In a setting of majestic and beautiful snow- capped moun- tains, and sunny weather, the comrades of the various native Salvation Army Corps in Northern British Columbia, gathered for their own annual congress at Hazelton recently, Speakers for the occasion were divisional leaders, Major and Mrs. Fred Lewis. Corps represented were Terrace, Cedarvale, Kitwanga, Kitsegukla, Glen Vowell, Hazelton and Port Simpson. A total of 150 seekers were re-| corded during the weekend. The congress commenced Satur- day evening in the Kitimax Hall, with an excellent crowd atfending. Guests and comrades were wel- comed by Captain L. Jackson of Hazelton. Mr. Wallace Danes, a member of the Hazelton Indian Council, expressed words of wel- come to all visitors. Sunday morning the Army hall wag filled to capacity. Lieutenant E. Tennant led the meeting in which the Terrace and Cedarvale comrades presented special music, _ and Lieutenant J. White offered a yooal solo. PRAISE MEETING In the afternoon a praise mect- ing was held in the Kitimax Hall, with Kitsegukla Corps and Captain L, Jackson participating. Adames: Thomas Tait, for impaired driv- ing was fined $275; H. Meuhle for impaired driving fined $300; L. Zilinski, for willful damage fined $20 and D. Rotman fined $75 for obstructing traffic and sentenced to one day in jail. There were also six convictions - {for speeding and minor traffic offenses; one trucking violation and’ four convictions. on lquor charges.
