Boileau, and Mrs. M.K. Warwick. SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Mr. Michael Wright, President of the Friends of the Port Coquitlam Library was in attendance to make the presentation of prizes to the winners of the recent Library Poster Competition. Prior to making the presentations, Mr. Wright noted that Alderman Keryluk would be assisting him with the presentations and further indicated that the decision of the Judges had been a difficult one as over 100 entries had been received. Although it had been intended that the submissions would be for an "Identification Sign and Logo’ for the City's new Library, the resulting entries were 'Posters', however, Mr. Wright advised that the submissions would be passed on to the Architect for review for possible inclusion of one or two of the ideas from the posters into the actual sign, following which a number of the submissions would be put on public display. Alderman Keryluk suggested that from the number of entries submitted it was obvious that although the resuits had not been quite as anticipated, the exercise had been fun for the students and teachers and had conveyed some interest about libraries - and the City's New Library facility ~ to the students. Alderman Keryluk then called on the First Prize winner, Miss Leslie Sheridan, 1178 Laburnum Avenue and a student at James Park Elementary School, and presented her with a City Pin and a Gift Certificate for Books in the amount of $40.00. Mr. Wright then made a presentation of City pin and a Gift Certificate for Books in the amount of $20.00 as Second Prize to Brian Glaze, #1 Kimmel Court, 2957 Oxford Street, also student of James Park Elementary School.
