Weatwood Road and Water
(Public Works Committee Meeting of June 4, 1991)

That the City of Port Coquitlam award the Road and Watermain Reconstruction Contract
on Westwood Street, from Kingsway to Shaftsbury to Maple Leaf Construction Ltd.,
based on the tendered price $634,507.50.

That an additional $6,000 for Consulting Engineering Services for this project be
approved for McElhanney Engineering Services Ltd.

That $240,000 be allocated from the Waiter Utility Capital Reserve Fund and that
$261,004 be allocated from the Roads DCC Reserve Fund for this purpose.

grant of $365,000 for this project. |

Memo from the Deputy City Engineer dated June 3, 1991 regarding the tender
comparison.

This project includes the reconstruction of the westside of Westwood Street from Kingsway to
Christmas Way, plus reconstruction of an eight inch diameter watermain. |

Tenders for this contract closed on May 27, 1991, and four bids were received as follows:

Maple Leaf Construction Lid. - $634,507.50

Porter Construction Ltd. - $668,675.00

Jack Cewe Ltd. - $671,231.70

B. Cussano Contracting Ltd. - $720,155.00 | .

The amount allocated in the 1991 Capital Budget for this project was $955,000.00. If the lowest.
bid is accepted, it is estimated that the final project costs would be approximately $762,008.00 —
(including engineering and contingencies), of which $522,008.00 would be for roads and =

_ $240,000.00 for watermains.
