THE CORPORATION OF THE C ¢ Uj NV C CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM JUL 2 1 1986 MEMORANDUM TO: Be. Kirk July 10, 1986 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters, P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Parking on Kingsway Avenue — Public Works Committee - July 8, 1986 Recommendation: That two hour parking be allowed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday on the south side of Kingsway Avenue from the entrance to the River Place Development east to a point meters west of Gately Street and that parking be prohibited from Gately Street to a point 15 meters west. Background and Comments: The Public Works Committee received two requests for parking restrictions In this vicinity. In one case the request is for limited time parking to allow customers to park on the street. in the other case the residents request no parking at any time in order to solve a perceived visibility problem. The Committee feels that the installation of two hour parking will eliminate much of the visibility problem because people wil! not be using this street for long term parking. Customers who come and go will rarely be on the street for more than a few minutes. The first 15 meters from the Intersection fs already marked as no parking at any time and this Should remain for Purposes of Vistbility from Gately Street. FeE. Peters a City Engineer FEP/kIn
