22nd, 1974, a standard biting te the Dyking Commission of $600. 00 per
month be established to recover a portion of the costs Ancurred : in patrol~ 7
Ling and maintaining. ‘the dykes and pumping facili ties in the dking and.

- drainage system of the Ci ty, with , the remainder of: the. costs over and above.

Prior to:passage. of the foregoing resoluti ion, a discussion ensued and
the City. ingineer advised ‘that a considerable. sum of - money has” ‘been ¢ expe nied:
on dyke maintenance work in order to provide a better and more , reliable op~

eration. Alderman Laking inquired whether the City was: tncurring any-costs

“on behalf | of. the District of. ‘Coquitian - and whether any were being recovered

from them. The City Administrator advised that the District of Coquitlan

passed a resolution to. pay their share and that about 25% of the dyking sys-
tem'is located in that municipality, Alderman fraboulay stated his view. that
the City should: withdraw from-the Dykeing Commission ‘and receive the. benefits

of the: dyking tax as well: as some. ‘costs for dyke maintenance that could: be.
