On the evening of May I7th, at 6230 n.n,, ny husband andr

noticed a stronec odor of gasoline emanating from our basement drnin,
Upon further investirationy we discovered the storm sewer on our
property, the drain in the road, and the ditch across the street

they looked ana smelled and agreed it was indeed &2e0line,. They
then left, informed the R.C.M.P., who sent up a city workmen, as
the firemen said it was not their concern,

on Eastem Drive as the culprit, and fouma their tank to he overs
flowing. we then phoned again to the firemen mo said they had
left a note for the fire_chief. I+ wes not until 9:00 a.m. the
next morning that any ection to prevent a Major explosion was
- taken.

Ny husband works in the laboratory at Imperial Oil, and has

“been testing gas for 28 years, and he was most upset at the

equipment in Port Coquitlam, he brought a machine from the refinery, .
On the following Tuesday, the 25rd, after a second snill from
