From the Environmental Protection Committee, September 29th, 1988
regarding Alternatives to Residential Burning.

Moved by Alderman Gates:
seconded by Alderman Keryluk:

i. That advertisements be placed in local newspapers advising
residents of the following:

(a) Backyard burning will no longer be permitted starting
January 1, 1989,

(b) Material intended for backyard burning be placed in the
normal domestic garbage for pick up by the City crews
Starting in 1989.

2. That the costs incurred in recommendation 1 above be funded fron
the 1989 Environmental Protection Budget.

That the report be referred back to the Environmental Protection
Committee for further study.
