zo i C MEMORANDUM C () \ MAR 20 1978 Mayor and Council March 17th, 1978 L.D. Pollock City Administrator 1. Property Clean-up ~- Irvine Street Attached is a copy of a memo from the By-law Enforcement Officer enquiring about burning some stumps and an old barn at property on Irvine Street, south of Pitt River Road. We have had difficulty in getting this property cleaned up as the previous owners do not feel responsible for the cost of removing the stumps that are on the site as they were left by the G.V.R.D. during the installation of a sewer line through this area. The present owners are prepared to arrange for the burning of the stumps and the old barn if the Council would grant permission during the period of permitted burning. 2. Apppointment of Approving Officer For the interim period until a new Engineer is hired, we will require an Approving Officer to sign any subdivision plans for Land Registry purposes. The Land Registry require a resolution of Council in this regard. I would suggest that Ron Freeman be appointed in the interim and that the Land Registry be advised. Ron is familiar with the provisions of the Act and he is also involved directly in all of the subdivision and strata- title transactions and he can work with the Planner in the approval process. L.D.
