Les Cowboys Fringants

Dans la foulée de la sortie, l’automne dernier, de son nouvel album «Que du
vent», le groupe québécois a entrepris une de ces tournées qu’il affectionne,
et cette fois, il nous fait le plaisir de

s’arréter a Vancouver. Dans le cadre
du 23e Festival d’été francophone
de Vancouver, les Cowboys vien-
nent renouer donc avec leur public
de la Céte Ouest, quatre ans aprés
leur dernier passage. Nous les re-
trouverons cette fois sur la scéne Air
Canada, samedi le 16 juin dés 21h,
pour un spectacle énergique, débri-
dé, délirant et festif. Les Cowboys
fringants, c’est d’abord un groupe québécois de musique folk, 4 saveur de
rock et de country, qui a vendu plus de 800 000 albums dans la Francophonie
au cours des 15 derni¢res années. Les Cowboys, c’est aussi Karl Tremblay,
chanteur, et Jean Frangois Pauzé, guitariste, qui se rencontrent en 1994 et
décident de fonder ce groupe désormais mythique au Québec et dans toute
la Francophonie. Ils sont trés vite rejoints par Marie-Annick Lépine, violo-
niste, Jéréme Dupras, bassiste, et Simon Landry, percussionniste. Mais Les
Cowboys Fringants, c’est au total douze albums et pas moins de 28 nomina-
tions au Gala de l’ ADISQ, avec 14 récompenses, dont trois Félix du Groupe
de l’année en 2003, 2004 et 2011, pour ne citer qu’eux.

It is as predictable and spectacular as high tides or the migrations of
certain birds. At regular intervals, Les Cowboys Fringants arrive in Eu-
rope, Quebec or somewhere else on the map for an intense and trium-
phant tour, in ever-larger venues, before fans whose enthusiasm has ne-
ver flagged from the first day, and then they go on their way once again.
The same phenomenon is happening now. Following on the release last
fall of their new album «Que du vent», the Québécois group has embar-
ked on one of their legendary tours, and this time, they are giving us
the pleasure of including Vancouver in their itinerary. As part of Van-
couver 5 23rd Festival d’été francophone, Les Cowboys will reconnect
with their fans on the West Coast, four years after their last visit. This
time we will find them on the Air Canada stage on Saturday, June 16
at 9 p.m., for an energetic, crazy, delirious and festive show. Les Cow-
boys fringants is first and foremost a Québécois folk music group with
rock and country overtones that has sold over 800,000 albums in the
Jrancophone world over the past 15 years. Les Cowboys was launched
in 1994 when singer Karl Tremblay and guitarist Jean Francois Pauzé
met and decided to create this band, that went on to become mythic in
Quebec and throughout the francophone world. Very soon, they were
Joined by violinist Marie-Annick Lépine, bass player Jéréme Dupras,
and percussionist Simon Landry. Les Cowboys Fringants has released
twelve albums in total and received no less than 28 ADISO nominations
( Quebec Music Industry Anual Awards) and 14 awards, including three
Félix awards for group of the year in 2003, 2004 and 2011, not to men-
tion many other awards.
