LOGGING CAMPS and MILLS. ‘AND THE STORY BEHIND IT — “Without peer and without blemish” We've been tanning our own leather since 1927, but it was only in the past couple of years that BARRY RICKARD, our new superintendent from South Africa, injected some of the ideas he brought with him from his homeland. BARRY has had yast experience tanning African hides (anything from a stump-tailed skink to an elephant, he says). We thought he was a bit of a line-shooter at first, but he made us buy new machinery and give him leeway to show what he could do. And then he came up with “IRONHIDE”. When you buy your first pair of PARIS BOOTS with this spectacular new leather, you will come to share our enthusiasm. It’s tough, and it’s beautiful—and it’s developed specifically for the job.
