BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: A letter of concern was received by the Engineering Dept. (attached) regarding Shaughnessy Street between Marshall Ave. and Pitt River Road. . Existing Shaugnessy in this section is a 7m paved road with open ditches on the east side, no curb and gutter, and no Sidewalks either side from Stafford to Pitt River Road. The existing open ditch picks up local road run-off and some residential services. The ditch flows north and south to. existing storm sewers. See attached sketch. The east road shoulder is narrow in sections creating a hazardous Situation for pedestrians when cars are parked on the shoulder. | | The section of Shaughnessy from Pitt River to Marshall is slated for improvements once the City owned land to the south of Stafford is sold and developed. When the land is developed, Shaughnessy will then be opened to Mary Hill Road south of Thea. Improvements would involve, sidewalks, curb and gutter, streelights, storm sewer and a widened asphalt surface. . aa i) AK ge
