The Municipality of Port Coquitlam is committed to the
belief that equal opportunity and treatment should
exist for all people;

Every resident of Port Coquitlam has the right to
realize his or her potential, regardless of race,
colour, national or ethnic origin, and live at all
times in conditions of dignity, respect and peace;

The General Assembly of the United Nations has
designated March 21 as the International Day for the
Elimination of Racial Discrimination;

The elimination of racism and racial discrimination can
be accomplished through understanding and respect for
the dignity of all people, and is the social and moral
responsibllity of each person,
