Budget allotment: Energy Conservation measures,
City Cperetions

Energy Conservation/Management Committee, November 25, 1982

That the municipal budget for 1983 include the sum of
fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). for the purpose
of implementing energy conservation measures in the
City's operaticns.

BACKGROUND

The objective of this recommendation is to undertake measures which will
result in reduced energy costs in City cperations. Some of the
measures being considered include: ;

® camputerized energy management system for City
buildings, including City Hall and Recreation
Centre;

start window replacement program for City Hall,
upgrading with thermally efficient windows or
storms;

e solar blankets (pool covers) for City swinming
pools;
e arena heat exchangers.
