AUG - 3 1975 TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL _ DATE: JULY 19, 1976 FROM: PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE ; Res SIDE YARD EXCEPTIONS IN RS-1 ZONE The Planning and Zoning Committee recently reviewed the wording of the regulation in the Zoning Bylaw governing side yard exceptions. The current wording is as follows: . "except that where a lot with a width less than the required minimum existed on or before the effective date of this Bylaw (918), the required setback from an interior side lot lime and from an exterior side lot line may be reduced to 10% and 20% respectively of the lot width, but in. no case shall be less than 4 feet and 8 feet respectively". The Committee recommends that this regulation be amended by deleting "existed on or before the effective date of this Bylaw", as the current wording prohibits all new lots under 60 feet in width from qualifying for the exceptions.
