From the City Engineer, October 18th, 1974, referring to the proposed City Eng. re Hastings St. Hastings Junior Secondary School, and advising of the following requirements Road Closure outlined by the Public Works Committee that have been agreed to by School District No. 43: 1. Lincoin Avenue not be constructed. 2. The Hastings Street access would stop at the parking lot and no through traffic to be permitted to the Northerly access from the District of Coquitlam. The City Engineer, in his report, recommended that By-law No. 1185, which stopped up and closed the North part of Hastings Street, be repealed. Alderman Thompson introduced a By-law to re-open to traffic a portion of Hastings Street in District Lot 4, Township 39, New Westminster District shown dedicated on Registered Plan 39464 and Plan 36881 in the City of Port Coquitlam. Inpt.Works curb and asphaltic concrete pavement on Handley Crescent as a work of Local Improvement: (a) The lifetime of the work will be Twenty (20) years. (b) The estimated cost of the work is $55,000.00. (c) The share or proportion of the cost which will be specially charged against the parcels benefiting from or abutting on the work is $16.00 per taxable front-foot in accordance with the provisions of the "Local Improvement Charge By-law, 1969, No. 912".
