school senior boys’ basketball

games this season, both at home »

and away.

He firmed up his sked earlier
this month and hopes his team
has improved enough to post
some victories against several
top-rated outsiders.

‘It’s a fairly lengthy sked,”’

McKay told us. “We open with
Centennial Centaurs coming

here November 29 and 30. On-
December 11, we'll have Thorn

Bay, Alaska, in for a game.
“Then we head to a tourna-
ment at Nanaimo, — following
which is the Centennial-Burnaby
Central series after Christmas,”’
A trip to Alberta is next on the
agenda to play St. Francis at
Calgary, then Vancouver Col-

lege. On February 9 and 10,

“It’s a stronger. lineup than
we've had in the past couple. of
years, mainly due.to the fact we
have a better team that deserves
to travel a bit more,”’ McKay ex-
plained. :

McKay told us the 1990-91
Kermodes are a better-rounded
team with a keen team aspect.
~ He lost some height from last
season, but his veterans and
newcomers offer speed and skills
io make up for a lack of big guys.

He expects the size aspect may
lead -to: losses to taller teams.
‘¢Qur tallest player is six-four.”’

We asked McKay about pre-

**You’ll have to ask the school
board about that, but it’s been
on the books the last couple of
years and has yet to. reach the.
stage where it fits on the list of
‘things to do’.

“‘We’re hoping it will be done
