Clark Gilmour in Victoria

24th at the age of sixty-two.

Mrs. Gilmour will be
remembered in Terrace for her
work in the HighSchool as girls
counsellor and her active in-
terest in the Teacher's
Association and all matters
pretaining to the field of
education.

Born in Calgary, Alberta,

" Helen Moore grew up in Creston

B.C, where she graduated from
high. school al age 15..

Proceeding. on to senior
metriculation in Nelson and
Victoria Normal School she
began her teaching. career in
1929 at Flagstone in-the East
Kootenay District. Fram there
she spent several years near
Cranbrook a5 principal ‘ot
Lumbertow Schoo) and then in,
1935 went to Creston Elemen-
tary School. Miss Moore. con-
tinued her training. - and.
professional development

through private study ‘and

summer ‘sessions entering the
field of music. instruction and
became’a Music Specialist, the

“classroom teachers in Creston

During the year 1955-56. she

siructor. Later Mr. and Mrs.
Gilmour moved to Terrace

where for len years previous to

thelr telirement in 1970 they
were counsellors at Skeena
-High School. During a two year
leave of abcence they were with
the ‘school program for the
Department. of. Nallonal
Defense at Grostenquin,”
France. ‘ ao.
Mr. and Mrs.: Gilmour made
their retirement home at 2788
Satelite Street, Oak Bay in
Victoria and Mrs. Gilmour
continued in her beloved field of
education for aboyt a year.

retirement, ending more than 41
years .of service ,in the
classrooms of our province. Het
first thought was always for her
students, many of whom. their
parents and her. colleagues will
remember her quiet dedication,
