Fire Prevention Office Str fing - this department has been overloaded with the huge
amount of construction taking place resulting in less service being provided in other areas
such public education. This new staff member will improve the situation. Funds will be
reallocated from all areas of the Fire Department budget to cover this cost.

Skateboarding - Council requested the Parks and Recreation Committee to report on
skateboarding. Attached is their report and the recommendation to fund a total of $5,000.

Chamber of Commerce - Tourism Promotion - Council has supported the tourism
promotion efforts of the Chamber of Commerce in the past. This year, the Chamber is
requesting an increase in this funding. We can also confirm that both the City of
Coquitlam and the City of Port Moody will be contributing to this program.
