S.E. Sector Drainage Stady - Award of Comiract
(Public Works Committee Meeting of June 13, 1991)

That appoint UMA Engineering Ltd. as Consulting Engineers to undertake the Drainage
Ssudy for the S.E. Industrial Area at an estimated upset fee of $64,800 with funds
allocated from the Drainage Development Cost Charges Fund. ;

That the, City puchase the updated model of the "HYDSYS" Drainage Program for
approximately $2,200 with funds -allocated from the Drainage Development Cost
Charges Fund.

The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Deputy City.
Engineer regarding calls for proposals for a Drainage Study of the S.E. Industrial Area.

The S.E. Industrial Area (generally bounded by Kingsway, Mary Hill Bypass, and Pitt River
Road) is serviced by the Harbour Street Storm Sewer Pump Station. The Harbour Street Pump
Station is at near capacity and requires major upgrading. Prior to upgrading the Harbour Street
Pump Station, the $.E. Industrial Area should be analyzed in order to balance the Pump Station
design with the Storm Detention Areas and the Pipe Drainage Systems.

Four bids were received from Consultants for this work. UMA Engineering Ltd. submitted the —
lowest bid based on a cost of $64,800.
