ENGINEESIEG DEP Tuesday, June 28, 1988 City of Port Coquitlam Tony Chong Engineering Department 22/2 McAllister Avenue Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Sir; This 1. to confirm our desire to utilize Argue Road and Mary Hill by-pass as a filmiug location for our feature film "COUSINS". The filming date is tentatively scheduled for one day in the first week of August. Preparation of the site would be one or two days before our filming date. Later this week I will try to con- firm dates and finalize important details. The shooting of this scene is depen- dent on good weather thus we would like flexibility in the date that we schedule. The scenes we are doing involve a BMW coming east on Mary Hill by-pass and exit- ing onto Argue Road. A little girl in the backseat lets go of her security blanket and it sails out the windew onto Argue Road. The car pulls over and her Dad dodges traffic in his attempt to retrieve the blanket from the middle of the road. All cars used would be driven by stunt drivers and film people. We would re- quire Police assistance to get our car coming from Mary Hill by-pass onto Argue Road. This could mean intermittant traffic delays for east bound traffic for one to three minute intervals when we were actually filming. The cement barri-~ cades across Argue Road would have to be removed on our film day. Argue Road would be swept and possibly we would need to paint the yellow centre iine to white and create the idea that it is a two lane east bound road. On the shooting day our filming would begin early morning (approximately 5:00 a.m.) and end in the evening (approximately 9:00 p.m.). Our crew consists of approximately 75 people. Our film unit is about 500 linear feet worth of equip- ment trucks and we would have approximately 120 cars including crew and picture cars. We would like to park the bulk of our film unit trucks at the east end of Argue Road and along the south shoulder of Mary Hill by-pass. Crew and pic~ ture cars we would also like to park on the south shoulder of Mary Hill by-pass and on the west shoulder of Mary Hill Road. The film unit equipment trucks would move in the evening before our filming day. I would like to arrange a meeting later next week to answer any questions you (cont. ) Gull ¢ Western a Company Telephone (604) 877-2270 175 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. V5Y 1P4 FACS: (604) 877-1975
