DISTRICT OF COQUIIL 1 DEC 43 1982 1111 BRUNETTE AVENUE, COQUITLAM, B.C. PHONE 526-3611 V3K 1E9 MAYOR J.L. TONN 1982 December 01 Mr. Brian Kirk, Administrator Corporation of the City of Port. Coquitiam 2272 McAllister Avenue Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3C 2A8 Dear Myr. Kirk: Re: Police Building Renovations As you are aware, the lease of space in the Justice Building to B.C.B.C. to accommodate provincial courts terminated on September 30, 1982. You may also be aware that the R.C.M.P. detachments which serve our municipalities have, for a number of years, expressed the need for more space. In the more recent past, relocatable buildings were purchased to provide temporary accommodation, which has done nothing to facili- tate either efficiency or convenience to our police force. At the suggestion of Superntendent Naaykens, and since our Engineering Department had time to assist, a modest plan of renovation of the building area formerly occupied by the Courts nas been put together. Full details are developed in a recent report dated 1982 November 29 to my Council, a copy of which is attached for your infor- mation and reference to your Council. The District Council has adopted the recommendation contained in my report and it is requested that you seek consent of the Council of the City of Port Coquitlam to share in the cost of the work now proposed not to exceed a total of $19,000.
