THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM ~4- Although we do not expect to be invoiced for the cost of this lighting until at least 1981, it is necessary for the City to sign agree- ment cards for the installation at this time. The Committee recommends that the Clerk be authorized to sign the agreement cards with capital costs te be shared as shown above and with power and maintenance costs to be 100 per cent Ministry of Highways responsibility. ITEM VI ‘Re: No Parking on Seymour Street A request has been received for the installation of No Parking signs on Seymour Street due to its narrow width. Seymour Street in front of the senior citizens facilities is only 20 feet wide with parking presently being allowed on both sides. The Committee recommends that No Parking At Any Time be implemented along the west side of Sgmour Street from the lane north of Davies Avenue to Gordon Avenue. , ITEM VIT Re: Request for No Parking on West Side of Bedford Street The By-law Officer has brought to the attention of the Committee the problems of continued parking problems on the west side of Bedford Street due to vehicles double parking in this area and creating problems for trucks turning into Bedford Street. Due to the obvious shortage of parking on this street, the Committee did not feel that complete elimination of the parking was justified but rather recommended that double parking be more strictly enforced on this street, . ITEM VIIT Re: Boulevard Damage at Corner of Welcher & Reeve Mr. Urquhart whe lives at 2495 Welcher has requested that the City place logs along the boulevard in front of his property to prevent vehicles from txavelling on the Srass. Mr. Urquhart has several times had his grass damaged by vehicles deliberately driving along the boulevard. It was pointed out that such vandalism takes place periodically at a number of Locations in the City and that the City cannot afford to get involved in a program of blocking access to all the boulevards. The Committee recommends that no action be taken. Respectfully submitted, : F.E. Peters, P. Eng., FEP/vw City Engineer. Attached.
