From: the City Administrator, June 9th, 1978 advising that confirmation
has been received that our application for a Grant from the Recreation
Facilities Fund has been approved and asking that Council give consideration
to accepting a Contract Bid for the Senior Citizens Addition Project.

Moved by Alderman Laking:

Seconded by Alderman Keryluk:

That the tender for construction of the addition to Port Coquitlam
Senior Citizens Centre for which tenders closed at 4:00 p.m. Friday,
May 5th, 1978 be awarded to D.H. Construction Ltd. in the total
amount of Two Hundred Twenty-three Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-seven
($223,937.00) Dollars including Separate Price "A" and Separate Price
Bits

AND THAT the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the
necessary documents therefore on behalf of the City and affix the

Corporate Seal chereto."

Carried.

Aldermen Ranger, Thompson and Mabbett voted against the resolution.

Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Mr. Dick Heinen of
Dick Heinen Construction spoke to.Council as he was actually the low
bidder and expressed concern that the Contract was not awarded to his
company. A representative of the Christian Labour Association was present
to answer questions. A brief discussion then ensued.

From the City Clerk, June 7th, 1978 advising of information received
on the PoCo Valley Golf Club's recent request to change their present
"EB" Licence for the Double Bogey Lounge to an "A" Licence.

That the request from the PoCo Valley Golf Club, May 29th, 1978
for approval of its application to the Liquor Control and Licencing
Branch for an "A" Licence for the Double Bogey Lounge, be approved.
