local Ringette girls, and
last week they again
came through with a
contribution. At a
Monday night practice
Sue Ferretti presented
Amanda Hawkins with a
cheque for $1,950.

Terrace Ringette
requires more travel time
and money than most
youth athletic groups
here — the nearest
Ringette team is Burns
Lake, and they often
have to go further afield
than that to find
competition.

Eli Pasquale, a player on
Canada’s national men’s basket-
ball team and former Olympic
squad member, will be in Ter-
race this weekend to run a two-
day basketball clinic for young
players.

Skeena school physical educa-
tion instructor Terry Zilkie said

‘Monday the course is still open

for registration. It will run from

7 to 9 Friday night at Caledonia
and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at
Skeena. The clinic is open to
boys and girls ages 12-17. Call
Skeena school to register. The
fee is $30, payable when the
clinic starts Friday night.

Zilkie said she is expecting
about 30 players for the clinic.
