They did so in a test case
brought by a woman teacher
under Britain’s new Sex

Discrimination Act.

The teacher, 26-year-old
Diane Williams, claimed in
court that the licensee of
The Churco Inn had con-
travened the act by refusing
to serve her a pint.

Judge Henry Dershaw
allowed her claim and ruled
that under the Sex
Discrimination Act lan-

women if so requested.

“This is a great victory
for all woem,’’ Miss
