Walter(“Wally") Khadikin started his “gig” at the hotel about a week ago and already has gained a loyal following of listeners. - ' Although he shuns labels and comparisons to other musicians, Khadikin's sound could be loosely defined as country-folk, ‘a little bit like Gordon Lightfoot, but with nuances that belong to his own special style. Born and raised in Nelson, B.C, Khadikin hag travelled and played across Canada, and in England, Spain, the U.S. and the Carribean. He has also gained recognition through his television work. She chose 12 to represent the ‘various changes that have taken place. The early voices include John Coulter, Herman Voaden, Robertson Davies and Gwen Pharis Ringwood. Their stories, though per- sonal in scope, tell of such developments as the for- mation of the Canada Counell, the Dominion Drama Festival and the advent of radio drama on the OTHER VOICES FOLLOW In succession, follow the voices of those playwrights who arrived in the awakening and still are contributing actively to the’. new age of Canadian drama: writers such as Tom Flubber fighters -Imay get Beatles back TORONTO (CP) — Oskar Morawetz, composer and fessor of music at the University of Toronto, was commissioned in 1987 by Russian cellist Mstislav Rostropovitch to compose a piece of music with a unique orchestratio Tt was not until April 4, Divorce or Annulment.
