THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM J.B. Yip, P. Eng. DATE: November 03, 1992 Acting City Engineer Anne T. Pynenburg Project Technician 30KM/H SPEED SIGN ON TYNER Install two "Maximum Speed" (RB-1) signs on Tyner; one northbound on the east side of Tyner at the southside of the driveway at 2250 Tyner and one southbound approx. 40 m south of Kingsway Ave, on the west side of Tyner at a cost of $200. BACKGROUND & Attached-is a memo from the City Clerk requesting a clarification of the speed signs and school zone signs existing along Tyner St. between Pitt River Rd. and Kingsway Ave. The reason for this request is because Hawthome Lodge has requested that a 30km/h speed limit sign be installed in the area of their property on Tyner St. The "Maximum Speed” sign indicates to drivers the maximum legal vehicle speed permitted on a specific roadway section. A "Modified School Zone Speed” sign is used in areas where special speed zones have been established adjacent to a school area. A modified sign is used to make this unusual rule of the road known to drivers. The manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices recommends using the regular speed control sign (RB-1) wherever possible for standard situations. The existing parking conditions on Tyner are: Westside from Central Ave. to Rindall Ave. ~ parking prohibited at all times Westside from Kingsway Ave. to Central Ave. - 2 hr. limited, from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Saturday inclusive. Eastside from Rindal Ave. to Pitt River Rd. - parking prohibited from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.
