The City Administrator, April 6th, 1979 advising that with respect to Council's enquiries at the Council meeting of April 2nd, 1979 election signs for Federal Elections are covered under the Federal Elections Act and it appears that Council does not have any authority to pass a By-law governing the posting of same. The City Administrator further stated the Provincial Elections Act does not contain specific provisions and it would appear that the provisions of our Sign By-law would govern the placement of Provincial election signs. Discussion then ensued. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: That the City not interfere with the posting of Federal or Provincial Election signs. Lost for want of a seconder.
