THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM -?2. ITEM II Re: Petition for 4-Way STOP at Oxford & Lincoin A petition requesting a 4-Way STOP at the above inter- section had been received directly by the City Engineer and was considered by the Committee. At the present time there are STOP signs on Lincoln on both sides of Oxford with Oxford being the through street. There were only two accidents at this intersection in 1978. By comparison, the intersection of Lincoln and Wellington which has a 4-Way STOP had four accidents in 1978. ‘Traffic volumes are light, the highest approach volume being 1200 vehicles per day on the west side of Lincoin. The highest approach volume on Oxferd is from the north at 950 vehicles per day. These valumes do not warrant a 4~Way STOP. a distance of about 100 of the STOP sign and in many cases speeds in between STOP signs are even higher than before STOP signs were installed. The Committee recommends that a 4-Way STOP not be installed and that the signs remain as they are. A copy of the petition is attached for Council's infor- mation. Respectfully submitted, ; / [hc F.E. Peters, P, Eng., FEP/vw City Engineer. Attached
