Land Sale Comnittee

The Land Sale Commtttee met on Tuesday, October 30th to discuss an exchange
of City land’ proposed by owners of land in the area of Shaughnessy Street
south of Stafford {at the very southerly end of the constructed portion of
Shaughnessy Street). The City has quite extensive land holdings in this area
and the land in question is outlined on the attached Map.

It can be seen from the attached map that the area marked A and area marked B

are City owned and it was Proposed that this would be exchanged for privately
owned land marked C,. In terms of land area parcel C is slightly larger than

the combined areas of A and B, however, the Committee has had the Engineering
Department lay out a preplanning scheme for C and it would appear that not

all of Parcel C can be utilized if the City should decide to subdivide the parcel.

The present City owned parcels are 43 and 44 feet in width and if the land was
to be exchanged the Committee would recommend replotting of the area to produce

‘lots of 60 feet in width to conform with our current Subdivision By-law. If

this was done it would result in the City giving uD approximately 7 building
lots and our preplanning scheme done by the Engineering Department indicates
that about 5 lots could be obtained from the Parcel C which has been offered

in exchange,

In. view of the foregoing rezsons and also the fact that the land involved is
subject to the current agricultural land freeze the Committee cannot recommend
that the land exchange be approved,.
