EXHIBITIONS Alterplece Takako Suzuld Exhibit. Cartwright Gallery June 2 - July 17, 1988 “Two languages and two cultural identities have shaped my identity; I am a Canadian of Japanese origin and 1986 marked the point at which I had spent twenty two years in each country. The wish to commemorate and explore this passage has been the underlying impulse for the creation of a large scale altarpiece celebrating aspects of both cultures. The work incorporates my interest in popular Japanese shrines where multiple images are commonly used and also the current interest in architectural or- namentalism." - Takako Suzuki 1968 1411 Carteright Street, Granville Island Terracotta Gallery Vincent Massey.
