Saturday, winding down Lakeise from city hall to its Stopping point at the Legion. That's where judges will render their verdicts on the winners of the various parade entry categories. Colourful parade held on Saturday THINK OF Riverboat Days and you think of the Saturday morn- ing parade. It’s easily the best attended event of Terrace’s August long- weekend celebration. The longtime sponsor of the pa- rade, Branch 13 of the Royal Ca- nadian Legion, is back again this year and chicf organizer Joynce Bradley has been gathering entry forms, ‘We're going to have a number from out of town,” said Bradley, “There’s two from Prince Rupert and one from Houston.’? New entrants already entered this year are the local post office and the Irnlybird outlet, Floats are gligible for four cate- gories of awards — commercial, non-commercial, groups and vehicles. Last year’s overall winning eulry was a float entered by The Terrace Inn, featuring a band that was playing at the time at the es- tablishment. Parade watchers can expect to see a traditional entry again with a float from former Caledonia students celebrating their 25th an- niversary of graduation. But there’ll also be a special reunion float this year from people who graduated over the years from Skeena school and its predecessors. “I’m told there could be more than 200 people walking with this float. I think it’s a great idea,’’ said Bradley. Parade entrants begin lining up on the stretch of Park Ave, be- tween Eby St. and Sparks early Saturday morning. e Standard, Wednesday, July 28, 1999 - C7 As the parade grows over the years, entrants now spill over to the stretch of Park between Sparks and down past the medical building, “We might even get as far as the library,’? said Bradley.
