Ev's Clippers stayed close to their Kitamaat Village opponents throughout most of the first half, and were down just 47-40 at halftime. The village team pulled away in the second half, however, and won com- fortably, 102-77. Morris ~, wa scores Amos paced Kitamaat Village with 23 poinis, while Gerald Amos potted 21. Dale Prest was Ey's top scorer with 32 points. It was All Seasons Sporting Goods who took control of the second game right from the start. By the time Kitimat Industrial netted their first basket, a foul shot, All Seasons already had a 5-0 lead. They never looked back, and by halftime had opened up a 49-32 lead over their Kitimat opposition. All Seasons eased up somewhat in the second half, but still coasted to an easy 91-75 win. Tom Marvin spearheaded the All Seasons attack with 31 points, while Dave Goertlen had 22, Randy Latimer had 22 points in a losing cause for Kitimat Industrial, The next scheduled action in the Terrace Mens Basketball League is tonight, at Skeena Jr, Secondary School, when Skeena Hotel will go up against Kluss & Sons at 8:00 p.m., and at 9:15 p.m., Ev’s Clippers will take on All Seasons Sporting Goods. Skeena Hotel's Joe Smoley opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at 7:25 of the first period. With just 1:21 remaining in the period, though, Haroid Cox con- nected for Gordon & An- derson as the teams were deadlocked at .one goal apiece going into the middle frame. G&A briefly took a 2-1 lead when Don Clifford potted one at the 1:11 mark of the second period. The lead was shortlived, however as just over a minute later, Cliff Flurry tied the game for Skeena Hotel, Sev Piatont assisting on the play. Piatoni notched one of his own at 8:13 to give Skeena Hotel a slim 3-2 lead going into the final twenty minutes, . Joe Smotey's second goal of the game came at 6:47 of the third period, and in- creased Skeena Hotel's lead to 4-2. Harold Cox brought Gordon & Anderson to within INTER-CITY MINOR HOCKEY More games in new year | It will take some juggling, but the {nter-City Minor Hockey Rep Team League will play four more weeks of their schedule in the new year. The shifting will be necessary due to some teams having arranged games against teams outside the area, and a special coaches , olinic in Kitimat in January. It’s hoped the league can get each of the 16 teams to play eight more games apiece. (AP) — It's a better-than-even chance that Bill Inglis, a former Buffalo Sabres player, will guide the Na- tional Hockey League club in tonight's home contest against Log Angeles Kings, a Sabres official said Wed- nesday. Paul Wieland, the team's director of public relations, said the situation had changed since the Sabres chief executive officer fired general manager Punch Imlach and coach Marcel Pronovost Monday. Seymour Knox, the club president and board chairman, said at the time he expected to name a new coach within a few days, Knox left the next day for NHL meetings in Homosassa, Fla. Published, reports , in, the. interim have all but installed former Sabres coach Joe Crozier as the choice to succeed Pronovost, and Wieland has said Knox told him before leaving for Florida to be ready to an- noumce a new coach. Something apparently stalled the talks, because Wieland said he doubted action would be taken as quickly as he thought, Crozier, who coached the Sabres in the 1972-74 seasons, was named NHL Coach of the Year in 1973. He was fired the next year after clashing with Imlach over Tmlach’s habit of instructing players.
