January 22, 1990/014 From the City Engineer, January 18th, 199¢ regarding Barricading of Lane between York Place and Western Drive. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Gates: 1. That the newly installed barricades be left in its present location at the York Place end of the lane. That more parking restriction Signs be erected on the north side of Oughton Drive to remind the public that there is no parking at anytime on this side of the road. That York Place and Oughton Drive be included as a priority residential road in the City’s snow and ice control procedures, That “no parking - emergency access" signs be erected in the lane between York Place and Western Drive, and that this regulation be diligently enforced by the Bylaw Enforcement Officers. That the Parks Department be requested to trim the trees which are obstructing visibility on Oughton Drive (adjacent residents to be notified prior). Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the report from the City Engineer dated January 18th, 1990 regarding Barricading of Lane between York Place and Western Drive be referred to the Public Works Committee for further consideration. Carried. Alderman Gates, Farnworth and Laking voted against the resolution. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Ms. S. Bauer, 1898 Mary Hill Road regarding the lane allowance next to her property. The fence previously on this allowance has now been removed; however a swing set has now been "dumped" on the lane allowance. Ms. Bauer would like to see the walkway maintained with most of the existing trees allowed to stand. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the matter of the walkway beside 1898 Mary Hill Road be referred to the Public Works Committee for further report. Carried.
