guests on the Thursday evening preceeding the sale. This will

At least 5000 flyers will be available In January, 1895. The
advertising committee will decide on graphics. These will be
used instead of posters.

AREA NOTES

ARROWSMITH POTTERS GUILD - | was delighted to get a
phone call from Les Crimp of Nanoose whe is the acting
president forthe newly formed Arrowsmith Potters Guild. He
tells me that there are some 63 people on their membership
list This guild hopes to represent the north - centre of
Yanoouver Island, i.e. Nanoase, Errington, Coombes,
Parksville and Qualicum Beach Their first project sounds
interesting - a plan to convert the old Parksville railway station
inte a pottery centre. If you are interested in joining this group,

HISTORIC TOZAN KILN BUILDING COURSES

Primary Foundation Course

3 week course with the master, Yukio Yamamoto

10 students, $375.00. Must be strong, heathly and reliable.
Students will learn foundation preparation, kiln surveying, ground
preparation, base level preparation, building and installation of
footings, ground analysis, layering foundation content. Students
in the primary course will have first choice to continue onte the
secondary course at a discounted price of $1760.00 which
Includes all 15 weeks,

Secondary Kiln Construction

Assisting the master with actual construction of the world's third
Tazan Kiln.

Approximately 3 months, 5 people per week $1500 or a basis of
$125.00 per week. Students will be involved with preparation of
bricks, understanding technique, mortar preparation, floor, wall
and arch construction, wood preparation, firing technique.
