and worked on the Grand Trunk- ‘Railroad.

and ‘enjoyed a life of challenge for 23 years. |.
; 1945 he quit his forestry jab to move to Terrace so Jim could
_ gfet-a high’ school education. ‘He worked for the:highways
department until 1950 and ‘then: for Columbia Cellulose BS
fire prevention officer until-his.retirement in: 1961.
‘ He kept busy then by gardening and writing ‘three books
of his life story. Two have been published and one on his
experiences in the RNWMP’s still to be: ‘published. He spent

many: hours ‘painting scenes of “his. adventures, in. the -

: ‘mountains: ‘He enjoyed good health until his death Feb. 5.’

Hb was predeceased by his wife Pearl in 1974: He is |
