Background & Comments: The municipality of Richmond is presently preparing a bid for the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Richmond is requesting support from various municipalities in the Lower Mainland. To have the games in the Lower Mainland would indeed be exciting for all the surrounding municipalities. It would provide the eitizens with the opportunity to see world class athletes competing. Citizens would no doubt also have opportunities to peat act as volunteers at the games. Other opportunities would also be available to Lower Mainland residents to become involved. Some municipalities may also be approached to supply various sporting facilities such as soccer fields, hockey fields, etc, “ Quik 7 ~ PP tammentd RK.
