The school problem was dealt with first and from a meeting with the School Board it would appear that sufficient facilities exist. It was pointed out that Birchland Elementary will reduce the present load on ‘the Cedar Drive Elementary School, however with the number of existing vacant lots plus proposed subdivisions the situation could become critical. Mr. Smith and the School Board are meeting with the Department of Education on May 18th, 1972 in regards to their budget and future referendums and posses full knowledge of the anticipated growth expected for the 1972-1973 School season. It was originally felt that Development Area would produce the most desirable results. Mr. Spani pointed oe out that enlight of the decision of Council to reserve the area surrounding his : ol proposed subdivision he will agree and convanent to construct dwellings which blend into the environmental area as well as develop in a matter which causes the least environmental destruction. Discussion persued along the engineering lines with regard to the storm sewer location. It was decided that as the application proceeds the engineering and preplanning scheme could be agreed to prior to the final reading. Recommendation: The Committee recommends approval of the application from R5-2 to RS-1 subject to adequate planning and engineering drawings being submitted and approved, and a convanent on the building size, finish and : selective clearing being set up by the developer and approved pricr to final , g reading of the By-law.
