The meeting of the May Day Committee was Called to order by Chairann Bod Hind on Aug, 27, 1979 in the staff room of City Hell, These present wer e: Cheirnen Bob Hina (Gym Club) Co-Chaitam Yaicoln Xerr (Legion), Treasurer Georgie Xolodiazny Gir.j, Wendy Eriage (Girt Guides), Trene Small (Legion L.A.), 5421 Noort (Downtown Merchants), Doris Buxton, Due to the lack of attendance no rotions could be passed but the following recommendations were made after lenghty discussion: On the same basis as last year with a subsidy by the City and a Paid co-er dinator hirea by the City, Bate: May 31, 19€0, if Wasner Shows are available at that tines Budget will be pressnted at a later date but this should not exceed last year's budget which was $17,790, Only about $15,000 were spent less credit fron Wegner Shows which anounted to $3,000; The Committee should be re-structured, certain rules end regulations Gesided on, f.e. two delegates fron each menber orgentzation should’ attend the meetings but cast only one vote on najor notions, The Status of interested Piivate citizens wishing to perticipate in Hay Day preparations should be decided on, Ts ses in the running Tull use of all manpower available the service clubs, ore econorial buying leed by one per son being in charge of Ordering all supplies and eduipment needed. Food and drink tickets at 252 each will bs sold by cashie rs only, this Way no money has to be handled at booths end no Valuable tine will be lost making Change, ete. All service clubs involved in the committee will be asked to s & ce rtezin scount of nenbders to men the concessions at different ting, , All in all the aim ig for equal work load and share in hicher Letters with an invitation to attend the next meeting will be sent to all local Grgenizations, It is hoped that 212 who would like to becone involved will attend the meeting so they can have ao sav in the structur e of th e¢ committee. If there is insufficient interest the existing excecutive will r econnend the cancellation of May Day for the coming yoar, : Some guide lines re the sele ction of the Royal Party should be DY epared dy a small Group of people.
