Page 1¢, The Herald, Tuesday, March 3, 1981 PROGRAM CADRE The Program Cadre is the same core curriculum ‘used by classes throughout the province with the difference being that the instruction is in the French language. This program which is provincially funded began, in B.C, two years ago in the "19-00 school year. At that time the French community in Terrace had expressed interest. School District 68 responded to their interest and advertised widely for qualified teachers. None ‘sequently the Program | Cadre was delayed- in Terrace. for one year. This year ('80-'B1) the District was successful in obtaining qualified teachera and classes are presently operating in Kjti K’Shan and Cassie Hall Schools. After completing secondary school in Vancouver, she worked for a year in France and Switzerland. Upon her return to Canada, she moved to Quebec, where she attended university, majoring in - Canadian history and French. Joan Roszmann: Joan studied a year in France and a year in Ottawa to complete her Bachelor degree in French at UBC in 1978, After her teacher's training at UBC she taught Grade one French Immersion in Coquitlam for one year.
