Alderman Traboulay stated in his opinion the Public Swimming & Skating admission charges should be raised 5% to take care of future higher costs when the percentage allowed would not cover the increased costs. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That the Public Swimming & Skating admission charges be increased 94 for the 1980/81 season. Carried. Aldermen Keryluk and Gates voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Aiderman Keryluk spoke against raising the price of the swimming admission as in his opinion it would cut down on the number of people participating and Alderman Gates agreed. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Committee, April 25th, 1980 the rates for room rentals be increased by 5% for the 1980/81 season. From the Public Works Committee, April 24th, 1980 advising of the request from Techram for consideration of alternative solutions to the drainage problem and recommending that the alternative drainage system as proposed by the developer's engineer, as described in the memorandum, be accepted provided that the developer also upgrades the culvert on Maple Creek crossing Kingsway Avenue so that it no longer restricts the runoff from Maple Creek.
