Me! ATE WF Port Coquitlam City Council ' October 17, 1975 ~ Formulation of the team In our first year of operation we would formate the team with approximately 50% o* the players from the Port Coquitlam area, and completing the roster with boys from Maple Ridge, Port Moody and other Lower Mainland areas. In the future we would aim toward a team comprised of at least. 80% local players. eo To this end we would work closely with the Minor Hockey systems in the ‘area, particularly in Port Coquitlam. , Our aim is not to raid or deplete talent in the area, but to provide a. place to play for junior calibre players, and 18-20 year olds unable to play '" any more in the minor system. This is an opportunity for those players to _ improve their skills against comparable competition. ’ We feel that in offering this outlet to the youth of Port Coquitlam and environs, we can allow boys %o- continue playing hockey, while going to school or Learning a trade. .
