That Council allocate $725.00 frorn the Environmental Protection Operating budget to support the Pitch- In Week activity in Port Coquitlam. 2. That the City advise the School Board, Boy and Girl Scouts, all Service Clubs and other identified organizations of our support for the Pitch-[n Week campaign. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The Pitch-In British Columbia campaign is a program where volunteers carry out clean-up projects in various municipalities in B.C. The role of a municipality is to encourage groups and organizations to collect litter in park, schoolyard, ravine, lake shore, beach and other similar areas. The City has supported the Pitch-In British Columbia campaign since 1991 and the next campaign will be held between May | - 7, 1995. Many local groups and organizations have supported this campaign in the past. The Pitch-In British Columbia campaign is a terrific mechanism for local groups and organizations to participate in cleaning up local parks, schoolyards and ravines. Pitch-In Week campaign materials (i.ยข, informations, garbage bags, etc.) will be provided to participating groups and organizations through the City.
