CONC THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM JUN 07 1993 TO: Mayor, Councillors DATE: May 25, 1993 & City Administrator FROM: IR. Zahynacz, P. Eng., FILE: PWC City Engineer SUBJECT: KILMER SCHOOL DROP-OFF PROJECT At the May 10, 1993 Council meeting, Council approved the City constructing a 21 stall angle parking area on the south side of Pooley Avenue adjacent to Kilmer School. In addition, Council passed the following resolution: “That the City Engineer and the School Board Liaison should investigate moving the 21 parking stall closure to Taylor Street.” I discussed this request with Bill Lowe, Faciliry Manager, School District #43 and Mr. Lowe noted that the School District would prefer that the 21 parking stalls be constructed in front of Kilmer School ratner than being moved closer to Taylor Street because the School District is using part of the boulevard area on Pooley Avenue close to Taylor Street in order to construct the school drop-off area. If the 21 parking stalls were constructed closer to Taylor Street, the school drop-cff area would then have to be moved farther south and this would eliminate the existing playing field east of the Kilmer School Building. The City is therefore proceeding with the construction of the 21 parking stalis on the south side of Pooley in front of Kilmer School as shown in the original design. De hypacr St LEGS NN LR.
