City Engineer Train Speeds - CPR Railway Crossing, Westwood (Public Works Committee Meeting of March 10, 1992) hat Council direct staff to notify Transport Canada that Pore Coquitlam has no ebjections to creasing the permitted sper! of trains at the Westwood Railway crossing from 15 miles an Jur to 40 miles per hour, The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project/Traffic Technician dated February 17, 1992 regarding a letter from Transport Canada dated February 11, 1992 requesting comments from the City of Port Coquitlam on their proposal to increase the speed for trains using the Westwood Railway Crossing from 15 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour. The Committee noted that the Railway has now insialled modern railway warning signals at this crossing and that faster trains will reduce the Waiting time for traffic on “estwood at the crossing.
