January 23, 1987 Attention: Municipal Council ‘a Re: FPermis sion to patral Gas Pipelines through Municipalities as lower than normal altitudes aver Ofuilt-up areas. Enclosed are letters from 8.C. Hydro and the Ministry of Transport regarding cur regular gas pipeline patrols at jower than nermal altitudes through Your municipality. we have been conducting these patrols for the past four Years and ; are required to renew our exemptions for this type of work. Part of R the new application requires your approval before Ministry of Transport authorization. The patrols are conducted along the right-of-ways only; and will be flown at an altitude of 300 feet above ground. An occasional landing may have to be made if it appears that some hazard could be dangerous to the public. (High Hoe operators have been abserved digging on the pipeline without supervision). We have anly made three landing in the past four years within the lower mainland because of _ this type of activity and will not be doing so unless absolutely neccessary and only in areas away from persons on the ground. i The Patrols are conducted once weekly and for the most part are flown with 8 small Hughes 300, Occasionaly we will be using a Bell jJetranger for special purposes but only om a very limited basis. Enclosed is a map of the pipeline right-of-way through your area sutlining,the route that will be followed.
