RECOMMENDATION:

That the appointment of Thorne Riddell as the City's Auditors be
continued until the City has reviewed audit propogals. which will be
requested by the Treasurer following completion of the 1984 audit,

approximately April 1, 1985.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

I have received inquiries from a couple of other audit. firms who are
interested in our account. While I am pleased with Thorne Riddell's
performance, I feel it will be to our benefit to request proposals.
Thorne Riddell's current appointment is for the year 1984 and the above
recommendation would carry us through to the time when the Audit
proposals are reviewed. The proposals will be requested approximately
April 1, 1985 which is after the completion of our 1984 audit.
