The Chairman opened the meeting by giving a brief description of the purpose of the public information meeting. fhe Chairman went on to point out the proposed neighbourhood pub site in relationship to the surrounding properties and explain the City's land use policy for the general area. Joe Yamochi, Architect, explained in detail the proposed development, pointing out that in addition to the development of a neighbourhood pub, there would be other support developments in the form of service commercial or service industrial. The Architect also pointed out the City's requirement for a 66-foot road dedication at the back of the site which would be fully landscaped to serve as a buffer be- tween the existing residential area and the proposed development. The Chairman then welcomed questions and comments from the audience. The major points raised by the audience are as follows: ° A number of residents expressed concern over the possibility of increased traffic and parking on Brown Street. Some felt that access from Brown Street to the proposed devel~ opment should not be allowed. ° One resident complained about noise of garbage trucks on Brown Street early in the morning. ° Concerns over possible increase in noise and traffic on McLean were expressed. One resident, however, felt that the pub would not cause increase in traffic on McLean during rush hours as the peak business hours of the pub are in the evening. f2reee
