Blueback masters’ swim division open for members The Terrace Blueback Masters just got underway this January 1990. Its a club for anyone 20 and over who wants to improve their swimming ability and get fit while meeting and working out with other people. The club is affiliated with the Terrace Blueback Swim Club and has a dozen members so far. They practise three times a week — Monday, Wednesday and Fri- day and are getting better all the time. The youngest member in the Masters Club is 20, while they have members up to 67 years old. The masters club also offer competitive opportunities for those who want them. Four Ter- race Masters went to the B.C. Winter Games in Penticton last month: Mary Bowering, Marion Duffis, Joe Nandur, and Dean McLay. Joe Mandur came. back with six medals for his efforts (including two gold for 50 and 100 m free) while Marion Duffis earned two medals in the 60 and over womens’ category. The other medal winner was Dean McLay, who got his medal while on our regional relay team, at the games. The Bluebacks are looking forward to meets in Kitimat and Prince Rupert in the near future. If your finding it hard to get incentive to go to the pool and get in shape, try out the Masters. Under a coach’s guidance you'll develop a more efficient stroke and more strength and en- durance.
