on a contract to provide a micro-
wave link between two thermal
generating plants, two major sub-

centre atop Burnaby Mountain
which will form the nucleus of a
microwave network encircling
B.C,'s Lower Maintand,

Two similar microwave projects
are underway elsewhere in
Hydro’s integrated transmission
system. Collins Radio Company of
Canada Ltd., are at the half-way
mark in the construction of a $5.3
million microwave trunk line be-
tween Vancouver and Portage
Mountain Dam oh the Peace River.
The same contractor is bringing to
completion a microwave spur be-
tween Kelly Lake, neat Clinton,
and Vernon, permitting remote
control of a number of substations
in the southern interior of the pro-
vince,
